Imagined Worlds, Drawn by Hand

About the Artist

I’m Fred Kroner — an illustrator and cartographer who loves building worlds and figuring out how they work.

Most of my work revolves around creating maps that feel lived in and believable. I’m interested in the why behind a place just as much as the way it looks: how people move through it, how it came to be, and what stories it holds. Whether the setting is real or imagined, I approach each piece with the same goal — to make something that feels grounded, intentional, and alive.

I work best with people who care about their worlds and enjoy the process of shaping them. I don’t just take a description and turn it into an image; I like to ask questions, explore ideas, and collaborate until the map feels right. The projects I enjoy most are the ones where the world itself matters.

All of my work is hand-drawn, and every piece is built with care, patience, and attention to detail. If you’re looking for something thoughtful, considered, and made to last, I’d be happy to talk.

If you’d like to start a conversation about a project, feel free to reach out — I’m always interested in hearing about new worlds in the making.
